Interns @ NWI

“Hello, I am Da’Sha Davis, a junior Business Administration student from Atlanta, Georgia. I had the pleasure of working with Neighborhood Works, Inc. as an Accounting/ Business Development Intern for Summer 2017. It has been a great learning experience. I have learned how to complete grant/project applications, use Quick-books, reconcile transactions, complete tax forms, produce financial reports, and so much more! This opportunity has definitely helped me improve my communication, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, organization, technical skills. I’ve had a very productive summer.”

“I am Meaghan Gamboa, a college intern for Neighborhood Works. My internship was a valuable learning experience and a great way for me to exercise the skills that I learned thus far. Experience is extremely valuable in any setting and the lessons that I learned on this internship- such as using ingenuity, being resourceful, and working toward a worthy cause- are lessons that I can continue to carry with me in my future and I am very grateful. I hope the work that I was able to contribute this summer was as meaningful to the organization as the experience it offered me.”

“Hi, my name is Iyanna Sinkfield and I’ve interned at NWI for the summer and it has been a great learning experience for me! I’ve obtained so many skills working for the company. Although my main focus was making sure my tasks were complete throughout the internship, I’ve had so much fun working with the people within the company and learning new things. Picking up on the new skills I’ve learned throughout the internship has allowed me to accelerate into new a prospective. You never know what you might gain until you intern for Neighborhood Works!”

“My name is Lanakai Davis and interning at Neighborhood Works has been a great opportunity for me. I have learned and gained knowledge that is very much needed in life. advice i would give to anyone who decides to volunteer/work at Neighborhood Works is learn all you can, embrace new skills and opportunities to learn outside of what you expect, remember the acronym CHDO, and never be afraid to talk to Mr. Siddeeq or Ms. Nefertari about anything. They have been the most genuine and understanding, patient and most kind people I’ve ever worked for. they will definitely make your journey at NWI worth it.”
